Proper usage and maintenance
Proper usage and maintenance is vital for getting the most out of the valuable resources we have. Our designs are made to last for generations, but just like everything else, they need a little care to get there.
Stainless Steel
Why
Stainless steel is a timeless and long-lasting material which is super easy to maintain. The material strength enables designs with thin profiles and various forms and patterns.Cleaning
Use soapy water and wipe with a dry cloth.Maintenance
Minor scratches and oxide stains can easily be removed with a non-abrasive scouring pad. Care products for stainless steel such as Gleerustol can also be used. If used on kitchen utilities, always remember to wash it thoroughly after.Caution
When using special care products you should avoid all contact with wood in order not to damaging the surface. Do not use any kind of products containing chlorine as this will damage the surface and make it vulnerable to corrosion.Teak
Origin
Teak is commonly found in Southeast Asia and Central and South America. Our FSC-certified Teak comes from Southeast Asia, Central America and Brazil, while our non-certified Teak comes from plantations in Indonesia and Trinidad; managed to sustain a renewable and reliable supply of wood. Why
Teak is a heavy, hard and sturdy type of wood. The high content of natural oils makes it highly resistant and it is therefore a good choice for all kinds of household articles.Cleaning
For regular cleaning use a suitable cleaning agent for wood.
Maintenance
As the wood is untreated, the surface will change colour over time and eventually turn into a beautiful silvery grey. To maintain untreated wood, it is a good idea to use sandpaper (grit 120-150) once or twice a year.Oiled Teak

Teak is a heavy, hard and sturdy type of wood. The high content of natural oils makes it highly resistant and it is therefore a good choice for all kinds of household articles.Cleaning
Clean with soapy water and a soft brush right after usage. Be aware that the product is not dishwasher safe.Oil treatment
The teak has been treated with food safe oil to improve its resistance. Therefore, we recommend that you treat the wood at regular intervals with an oil – e.g. worktop oil – to preserve the glow and resistance. If the product is not oiled continuously, the surface may change colour over time and become silvery grey.

About the designer / VE2

The design duo VE2 is two creative individuals: Hugo Dines Schmidt and Morten Lauritzen. In the interface between form and space, the ambition is to create cohesion via characteristic and aesthetic designs with a clear functional justification. They find their inspiration in everyday life, the people in it, and their drive to make it better. Separately and together they weigh up the good in life in general and the design studio in particular. And they are on the move and yet very much present in the now at one and the same time. They unwind and enjoy life.
