Proper usage and maintenance
Proper usage and maintenance is vital for getting the most out of the valuable resources we have. Our designs are made to last for generations, but just like everything else, they need a little care to get there.
Ash
Origin
Ash is commonly found in temperate regions in the northern hemisphere as well as in middle/northern US. The Skagerak ash comes from European forests. Why
Ash is a light type of wood with a living structure. Its strength and durability make a good choice for indoor furniture and accessories.
Cleaning
Use a damp cloth and soapy water. Wipe with a dry cloth to ensure a spotless surface. If the pores of the wood should rise use a sandpaper (grit 120-150).Maintenance
Dust it several times a week in order to maintain a clean surface and protect the finish from building up soil. Use a clean, lint-free, absorbent cloth for general dusting.Painted Steel
Why
Steel is not only a timeless and sturdy material – it is also easy to maintain. The material strength enables designs with thin profiles and various forms and patterns. To ensure a smooth, even finish on the surface, the steel has been spray painted.Cleaning
Use soapy water and wipe with a dry cloth.Maintenance
Although sturdy and resistant, painted steel is not invincible and scratches in the coating can appear. Recoat the stracthes with our special touch-up paint.

About the designer / Martin Solem
"A product has to be useful and realistic to be considered as good design". With this core philosophy in mind, Martin aspires to take an innovative approach when he sets out to create new design projects. Martin was born and raised in the Norwegian seaport Arendal, but has been living and working as cabinet maker in Denmark since 2005. His ideas for new design can emanate from certain shapes or functional observations, which often can be far from the what the final product is about.
