Georg Jubilee Stool / 565 eur
Designed by Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm
Georg Jubilee Stool is designed as a celebration of Skagerak’s 40th anniversary. A beautiful mix of Nordic sensuality and Japanese minimalism. The jubilee version revives this original expression of the Georg stool in a novel way, equipped with a rare cushion made of aniline leather from a Swedish tannery called Tärnsjö. The cushion is attached with a dainty braided leather strap, while the stool itself is created in untreated oak, known for its clear, light grains and sturdiness.

Proper usage and maintenance
Proper usage and maintenance is vital for getting the most out of the valuable resources we have. Our designs are made to last for generations, but just like everything else, they need a little care to get there.
Leather is a strong and natural material that gets a beautiful patina over time. This makes it very easy to maintain and a great match for our many wooden designs.
Use a suitable leather cleaner when necessary.
The product requires a minimum of care, but if you want to freshen up the original colour of the leather you can use a suitable leather grease.
The Swedish Tärnsjö tannery has more than 140 years of experience in the art and craft of leather. To colour their products, they use a millennium-old method of vegetable tanning which respects the environment and ensures the development of a unique patina over time. The leather used for this cushion is Tärnsjö’s thinnest and softest, and it has kept its natural appearance through aniline colouring where no colour was added in the finishing process. It has a rich and shifting colour texture and genuine leather feel.
Leather is a living material, and if exposed to direct sunlight, the colour will darken gradually. Likewise, exposure to hot or dry air for a longer time can dry out the leather if it is not regularly conditioned.
To freshen up the leather once in a while, we suggest this 2-step cleaning method:
1. Use a clean and wet natural sponge or soft cloth to remove any dirt or stains.
2. After cleaning, apply a suitable leather grease that will nourish the leather, protect it and help it to retain moisture.
Oak grows in most temperate zones. The Skagerak oak comes from European forests and is either 100% FSC certified or FSC mix certified, supporting sustainable forest management. The selection of the wood is extremely careful and all processing is by hand, so that only the best and most durable pieces of wood are used in production.
Oak is a sturdy and hardwearing type of wood containing natural tannings that will protect against bacterial growth. Combined with its light, elegant colour and well-defined grains, this makes oak wood safe choice for high-quality interior.
The wood comes with no finish. If you choose not to treat it with soap or oil, use a suitable cleaning agent for wood.
As the wood is untreated it may be affected by grease and colorants. For this reason, we recommend saturating the wood with soap or a suitable furniture oil to make it more resistant. If you wish to use soap or oil, use a suitable product. Be aware that the wood will change colour when applying soap or oil.

Function is her starting point and dictates the idiom of her beautiful designs. Chris is a curious and investigative woman. And it is in the investigation that she finds her biggest inspiration – an investigation of all possible angles of a design that draws her and broadens her perspective on the design process. Besides this, she is deeply fascinated by traditional Japanese architecture and design which focuses on the core function of the design.
